FactoidThe children's game 'Leapfrog' in which players vault over each others stooped backs has been known by this name since the 16th century. However, the French version of the game is called 'Saute-Mouton' which translates as 'Leapsheep'. It is not known whether English observers of the Gallic variation have been tempted to rechristen the game 'Frogsleapsheep'.
