The story behind the sound
Glasgow’s Chris Potter kicked off his music career in 2009 as a member of the Scottish four-piece indie folk-rock band Kassidy. They borrowed the name, though not the spelling, from the lead character in a shared favorite film. A multi-instrumentalist, he contributed on vocals as well as on guitar. After one of the band members left for Los Angeles, the remaining members formed White, shifting from an indie acoustic sound to one more in the vein of LCD Soundsystem and Franz Ferdinand. This change showcased the talent and diversity of its members. Not to be pigeonholed, though, as Chris is capable of deftly delivering hard-rocking, chunky guitar on demand as well as indie acoustic and pop rock.
