The story behind the sound
Glasgow’s Lewis Andrew first earned his rock stripes as a member of Scottish four-piece indie folk rock band Kassidy. A multi-instrumentalist, he contributed on vocals, as well as on guitar, accordion and keyboard. After one of the band members left for Los Angeles, the remaining members formed White, more in the vein of LCD Soundsystem and Franz Ferdinand, with Lewis taking on the role of bassist for this incarnation as well as some producing duties on the album. Lewis fuels his writing with his first-hand performance knowledge of what engages an audience. Lewis’s own compositions range from chunky guitars and an aggressive, driving sound to more of an indie/folk acoustic feel, covering a wide emotional spectrum.
