The story behind the sound
Simon Jay is a Grammy and Emmy-approved songwriter, producer and composer for film and TV, based in Los Angeles. His work can be heard on hit shows including Only Murders in the Building, Euphoria, This Is Us, Good Morning America and High School Musical, as well as on projects with Madonna, Olivia Rodrigo, Richard Carpenter from The Carpenters, Claudia Brant and Paul Anka. Simon started playing music at the age of four, practicing on the old upright piano that sits in his studio to this day. Having learned music and language concurrently, he maintains that he still communicates better through music than speaking. Simon’s obsession with simplicity and his unique understanding of others make him ideally suited to producing and to crafting scores. Simon currently serves on the P&E Committee of the LA Chapter of the Recording Academy. He and his business partner, Luke Shrestha, own the studio The Nest in Los Angeles, which is currently home to many artists, songwriters and producers.
