The story behind the sound
From theatre to film to music, Mumbai’s Ruhan Kapoor has a recognisable face and voice. The apple didn’t fall far from the tree seeing as Ruhan’s father, Mahendra Kapoor, is an icon of Indian Classical Music. Ruhan’s training began at nine, studying the entire breadth of Indian Classical Music, learning from an array of his father’s contemporaries, and touring. Touring opened a gateway to the entire world and Ruhan stepped on stage in London, Los Angeles, South Africa, Dubai, and Paris. Moving beyond his classical roots, Ruhan also released a trio of pop albums. Ruhan has passed the gift his father gave him by starting his own son Sidhant on a musical career, working alongside him as Mahendra worked with Ruhan.
