The story behind the sound
Dave James established himself in the ’80s, working as a session drummer, percussionist, and saxophonist and then hitting the road with Imagination, Sheena Easton, and Jackie Grahame. He parlayed that skill and knowledge into a career as a songwriter and producer. He has written and produced tracks for Michelle Gayle, Atomic Kitten, Vonda Shepard, Sonique, and Take That and, as such, has experienced the thrill of a number one hit. At home in a plethora of styles, Dave produces and develops new acts, passing along knowledge gained from his work with legends like Lamont Dozier, Richard Perry, and Albert Hammond. Despite his 1980s beginnings, Dave is capable of delivering the fun of the swinging ‘60s in addition to diving into country and blues.
