The story behind the sound
Australian Anthony Donlon is one-fourth of Sydney band Tenderfoot. He deftly tickles the ivories as its keyboardist. The group’s organic sound is reminiscent of Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, and The Band, with a spoonful of Coldplay added to the mix. They work hard to distil the warmth of performing live in the room to the actual recording. Anthony’s integral keys contribute an additional breadth to the band’s music; equal parts driving and melodic, based on the needs of the song itself. The trio’s individual talents coalesce into a greater whole. Tenderfoot follows up its EP “Beginnings” with debut studio album “To Be Young” which was recorded at Abbey Road Studios with producer Julian Emery and the English Session Orchestra.
