FactoidIn Nineteenth Century there was a rumor in Odessa (nowadays Ukraine) that the founder of Zionism Theodor Herzl will visit the city because of its huge Jewish population. Odessa’s Jewry presumed that he will come on the first train to Odessa, arriving at 7.40 AM. They commissioned famous Jewish journalist to write a lyrics for the occasion, using traditional Freilach (‘happy’ or ‘cheerful’ in Yiddish) melody but Herzl never came!
