The story behind the sound
Producer Xavier Mosley, aka Chief Xcel, has been a force in the music scene for nearly two decades. He is a founding member of the two-man hip hop collective Blackalicious, and along with four other like-spirited musicians, founded the Solesides collective, which would give birth to Quannum Projects, now one of the world’s most well-respected independent record labels. Xcel went on to co-found Yeah Music and Sound, a music production house dedicated to providing the highest quality music and sound design for film and television. Their clients include Apple, Volkswagen, Adidas, Microsoft, Coca Cola, and Target. Xcel's newest partnership is with multiple Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Ledisi on their new group, Loud Speaker. Chief Xcel has the ability to fully compose a vast spectrum of arrangements, from fat, funky grooves to orchestrated, melodic pieces, and everything in between.
