The story behind the sound
British saxophonist, composer, and bandleader Tim Garland’s awards and honors include 2006 Musician of the Year from the Cross-Parliamentary Jazz Society, a Grammy Award for his orchestrations of Chick Corea’s “The New Crystal Silence,” and the 2016 Jazzwise Readers' Poll Album of the Year for “One,” as well as several BBC awards. In addition to his time in Chick Corea’s band, he’s also belonged to bands led by Bill Bruford, Allan Ganley, and Sir John Dankworth, as well as fronting a number of his own. Tim studied Jazz and Classical Composition at Guildhall School of Music and has written for many world-renowned orchestras.
