The story behind the sound
As committed to changing the world for the better as they are crafting euphoric indie-rock, L.A.-based trio Trapdoor Social are a much-needed force for good. Formed in the Environmental Studies Department of Pomona College more than a decade ago by band-leaders Merritt Graves and Skylar Funk, the B52s-approved outfit launched the world’s first fully solar-powered festival in 2016. Today, they continue to prioritise sustainability ahead of profits, while empowering listeners with soaring anthems created with collaborators including Kenny Carkeet (AWOLNATION), Joseph E Shine (Barns Courtney) and Curt Schneider (John Mayer).
