The story behind the sound
As experimental as the Beatles, as soulful as J Dilla and as verbally sharp as Wiley, Skripture – AKA Sean Allen – is a rapper, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer operating beyond musical boundaries. Hailing from West London, Skripture was a founding member of The Truth MoveMENT – a collective featuring Michael Kiwanuka and Dornik – and also performed in transatlantic rock group The Score, recording with Will.i.Am and opening for JLS and the Pussycat Dolls. As a producer he’s worked with talent as diverse as Tinchy Stryder, Donaeo and Tianna Major, while his skills as a multi-instrumentalist have been utilised by an array of household names from Basement Jaxx and Gregory Porter to Stormzy. Alongside his acclaimed solo work as a rapper, Skripture remains a prolific and respected production music composer, and counts Adidas, F1, MTV, CNN, Netflix and Manchester United amongst his many clients.
