The story behind the sound
Multi-percussionist Pete Lockett has performed and recorded in nearly every style imaginable, from more straightforward fare like pop and rock to free jazz, classical avant-garde, and world music from literally around the globe. As diverse as his style is, so is the list of artists he’s recorded or toured with. Names like Björk, Peter Gabriel, and Robert Plant, percussion luminaries like Evelyn Glennie, and bands Pet Shop Boys, The Verve, and John Spencer Blues Explosion stand out. His work has been the backbone (and backbeat) of blockbuster Hollywood and Bollywood films as well. Pete was voted Best World Percussionist for three straight years, between 2013 and 2015, and Percussionist of the Year 2015 in United States magazine DRUM.
