The story behind the sound
Musician and composer Paddy Conn plays bass in the London-based band Swimming Tapes. Paddy started crafting songs at an early age, recording over each new song to create space for the next. Even then, he was focused on honing his creative process. He uses the piano as a means to exorcise his innermost feelings and loves the sensation of an analogue soundscape, harkening back to a simpler, less digital age of beautifully blurred sounds. His stylings have been influenced by Brian Eno, Van Morrison, and The Beatles. Remember Summer couples Paddy with Angelina Dove of the pop group Snow Hill. United, their sound is an ethereal throwback to a synth-heavy 80s as filtered through a more modern sensibility.
