The story behind the sound
Shay Mula is a multi-disciplinary creative. She is a rap artist, DJ and co-director of Yeah Youth UK, a free artist development project for young creatives particularly from financially and socially vulnerable backgrounds. Shay’s rap accolades span from performing her collaboration song with Boy George at Milan Fashion Week for Swarovski, to independently reaching the Top 10 in the Rap/Hip Hop iTunes chart for her album, Speaking in Tongues, and curating the first all-female hip hop tour in the UK. Shay is known for her high energy performances, lyrical prowess, vulnerability in her storytelling, social commentary and her intricate flows over any tempo from rap to grime.
