The story behind the sound
Nicholas Steinbach is a composer and music producer based in Los Angeles. Originally trained as a classical pianist, he specialises in writing music for film, television, advertising and video games. His music blends minimalism with bold experimentation, using analogue synthesisers, live orchestras and heavily processed organic recordings that create evolving textures and a sense of inevitability. Nicholas’ distinctive sound can be heard in global advertising campaigns for films such as Last Night in Soho, 28 Years Later, Smile and Borderlands, as well as for brands including Nike, BMW and the Olympics. Recent career highlights include composing themes for AAA titles Delta Force and Exoborne as well as scoring multiple seasons of Call of Duty: Mobile, a project that earned him a nomination for a Hollywood Music In Media Award. He has also contributed additional music to television series including The Walking Dead, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Outlander. With credits across blockbuster campaigns, AAA games and television, Nicholas continues to craft music that resonates globally and pushes creative boundaries.
