The story behind the sound
Singer-songwriter Kate Rawlings was born and raised in London. Her passion for music was ignited by her father, who had a stall on Petticoat Lane in the 1960s selling reggae records. Kate grew up listening to all of his old records and reggae is a big influence on her music now. Kate started singing at the age of seven and by the age of ten she was learning how to write songs and performing regularly in the West End. Moving to Los Angeles to study and progress her music, writing and performing has provided further inspiration and resulted in a wealth of songs that tell Kate’s story.
