The story behind the sound
Justin Holets, AKA JSTONE, is an L.A.-based DJ, producer, pianist and composer specialising in hip hop and R&B. Boasting a Bachelors Degree in Professional Music from Berklee College of Music – where he majored in piano under the tutelage of Jetro da Silva, Bruce Thomas, Richard Davis and Ben Houge – Holets later discovered turntablism and studied for a Professional DJ Certificate at Scratch Academy LA, the prestigious DJ school founded by Jam Master Jay. Holets draws on this diverse background in his acclaimed production work – which includes credits on Emmy-nominated documentary, Take Every Wave: The Life of Laird Hamilton – and in DJ sets at venues including Canal Club, James Beach, 41 Ocean, 31Ten, and Seventy7 Lounge.
Boasting a Degree from Berklee College, Holets later discovered turntablism and studied for a Professional DJ Certificate at Scratch Academy LA, the prestigious DJ school founded by Jam Master Jay.
