The story behind the sound
As a pianist, Julian Gallant has traveled the world with ensembles including the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne, Oxford Philomusica, Moscow Philharmonic, City of London Sinfonia, and Kiev Chamber Orchestra. Julian has also been the Chief Conductor of the Russian Chamber Orchestra of London and Director of the Oxford Philomusica. His knowledge of Russian music was kickstarted by a train trip to Moscow with pianist Olga Balakleets, who would become his wife. It is his depth of classical music knowledge as a performer and conductor that Julian draws from for his wealth of arrangements, revisiting greats like Verdi, Handel, Bach, and Mozart with keen insights into sculpting a performance and recording.
