The story behind the sound
Jon Ong is a composer and multi-instrumentalist based in Los Angeles with over 11 years of experience in film, TV and commercials. Originally from Singapore, Jon started out as a guitarist and later fell in love with film scoring while studying at the world renowned Berklee College of Music. He credits the original Star Wars trilogy and Jurassic Park as his inspirations for pursuing film scoring. Having risen through the ranks of the film scoring world in Los Angeles, he has worked with renowned composers Lorne Balfe, Nick Urata and William Ross. Jon’s extensive credits include creating additional music for films including The Accidental Getaway Driver, Paddington, Love The Coopers, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, Chain and 17 Blocks. Outside of film, Jon also created additional music for Hulu’s Dopesick, Amazon’s The Wheel of Time, Netflix’s A Series of Unfortunate Events and HBO’s Pennyworth and His Dark Materials. Jon has also composed music for national commercials such as McDonalds’ The Hamburglar and Nickelodeon’s digital series Chase Champion.
Having risen through the ranks of the film scoring world in Los Angeles, Jon has worked with renowned composers Lorne Balfe, Nick Urata and William Ross.
