The story behind the sound
Multi-hyphenate composer, arranger, producer and performer Henry Counsell acts as creative director and one-third of London-based From Concentrate Music. Originally from Adelaide, Australia, he also creates music and produces under his artist name Count Counsellor. Henry cites an eclectic mix of artists like Fela Kuti and Burial, The Streets, Sade and Paul Simon as some of his influences. His pop songs bridge the organic and the electronic. The created soundscapes from this amalgamation have depth, resonance and complexity — all while maintaining their accessibility and without being overbearing. Let your ears take a trip to his sometimes bizarre and always wonderful music, which dances around genres like funk, pop and disco, but maintains an identity all its own.
