The story behind the sound
Based in Los Angeles, Gerrit Wunder is an award-winning composer working across films, commercials, trailers, studio logos and virtual reality projects. His scores include the Jurassic World VR Expedition, DC’s Stargirl, Netflix’s Slumberland and Dreamworks’ Postman Pat – The Movie. In addition, Wunder composes for independent and TV movies and for nature documentaries on Lifetime, Red Bull Media and the BBC. His commercial credits include Hewlett Packard, Samsung, Ducati and Husqvarna. Recognised by the Global Music Awards and Utah Film Awards, and a recipient of the BMI Pete Carpenter Fellowship, Wunder holds a masters degree in composition and piano from the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, Austria. As well as being a modular synth enthusiast, he is an avid collector and player of unusual bowed string instruments, such as the octave violin and rare electric violas.
