The story behind the sound
Fernando Rios Roman is an artist, singer, and songwriter from Culiacan, Mexico. For the last few years he has been performing his songs across Mexico, both with a band and solo. On his most recent record he has partnered with LA based composer Guillermo Pascual to create an authentic album of corridos, a popular narrative where song and poetry are fused into a ballad depicting various themes such as history, triumph, oppression and daily life for regional Mexican culture. Before going solo, he was a member of the well-known norteño group Los Admirables de Sinaloa, who experienced significant success in the region. Their corridos have been recorded by different bands in the north of Mexico, and the Campirano star Ariel Camacho and Los Plebes del Rancho.
Mexican singer/songwriter Fernando Rios Roman’s album is a collection of corridos, which fuse song, poetry and ballad, reflecting Mexican history, triumph, oppression and daily life.
