The story behind the sound
David O’Brien lives and works as a composer and recording artist on a houseboat on the River Thames in London. While the boat once sank, David’s compositions have lifted global campaigns for Lynx and Magnum. He’s provided theme music for the BBC and collaborated with The Freestylers. When creating music, David casts a wide net, not anchored to any one particular genre or medium, and contributes to film, television, bands, record labels, and publishers. Moving beyond his studies of classical and popular music, David studied Hindustani music in Varanasi, India, and added yet another layer of depth and diversity to his sound which can shift from hearty blues to haunting melodies. He continues to innovate and grow as an artist.
