The story behind the sound
Based in Harrogate, Dan Mizen is a producer, recording engineer, front of house and monitor engineer. Bands and artists he’s worked with live and in the studio include Skunk Anansie, Billie Marten, The Strypes, Chris Difford, Paul Young (Los Pacaminos) and The Cribs. Inheriting his love of music from his father – the revered multi-instrumentalist Frank Mizen – Dan has been fascinated by production since his pre-teens. Quickly graduating from his rudimentary experiments on Cubase, Dan has since gone on to produce A-list rock acts. He also partnered with Vevo as engineer for their ‘Vevo Live Go Shows’ series featuring Imagine Dragons, Bring Me The Horizon and Twin Atlantic. Dan is part of a production team with the Grammy-nominated artist, composer and performer Miles Gilderdale. Their commercial clients include BBC Television and Radio, ITV and Sky.
