The story behind the sound
Chris Baron studied at the Guildhall School of Music. He enjoys performing as a drummer, percussionist, composer and teacher in a wide range of musical genres. His work has included performing on soundtracks for ‘Lord of the Rings’, ‘Harry Potter’, ‘Gangs of New York’, ‘Arthur Christmas’ and scores for John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Elmer Bernstein, George Fenton, Dave Arnold, Danny Elfman, Howard Shore, Joni Mitchell and Terrence Blanchard. He has also worked on West End shows including ‘Follies’, ‘Miss Saigon’, ‘Sunset Boulevard’, ‘Chicago’, ‘Evita’ and ‘The Lion King’. Chris has also performed with The Philharmonia, London Sinfonietta, Aurora Orchestra, RPO, BBC Radio Orchestra, BBC symphony and CBSO. Chris’s love of jazz has led to gigs with the BBC Big Band, Syd Lawrence big band, Roger Beaujolais, London Jazz Orchestra, Under the Influence and his own band, The Jazz Percussion Quintet.
