The story behind the sound
Welsh-born, but mainly based in LA, multi-award winning composer Ceiri Torjussen’s work has been used on everything from independent and major studio films to documentaries and animation. He is also an accomplished composer of concert and experimental music. His documentary scores include ‘Pistorius’ for Amazon, ‘Mr Calzaghe’ (BBC/eOne) and ‘Becoming Bulletproof’ (Showtime). Ceiri’s work for films spans a range from the moody, ambient electronic score for ‘Test’, to a nod to the classic monster movies of the 1950s with ‘Big Ass Spider!’ and heart-thumping electronic music for ‘Hitman: Agent 47’, ‘Repo Men’, ‘Live Free or Die Hard’ and ‘Underworld Evolution’, together with action-comedy music for ‘Scary Movie II’. Ceiri has also worked with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, The Vale of Glamorgan Festival and the Henry Mancini Institute. In 2016, his BBC commission ‘Blodeuwedd’, for full orchestra, was given its US premier as part of the Los Angeles Hear Now Festival.
