The story behind the sound
Arkateqq is an artist, songwriter, music producer and DJ from New Jersey. Growing up, he listened to a mix of grunge, hip hop, folk and freestyle, and after teaching himself guitar at an early age and discovering ways to overdub instruments on to cassettes, he was drawn into sound engineering. Arkateqq's cinematic soundscapes and experimental mixing (under the name Woodro Skillson) lead him to making records with some of music’s most notable names, including Machine Gun Kelly (MGK), Melanie Fiona, Kid Cudi, Chip tha Ripper, Bun B, Chance the Rapper, Logic, Jhené Aiko, 6lack, Jesse Boykins III, Willow Smith, Syd, Dumbfoundead, Awkwafina, Avenged Sevenfold, Fabri Fibra, Rockie Fresh, Gunplay and Kelvyn Colt, as well as for companies including Nike, Disney and EA Games. After his success making music for others, he studied songwriting and began writing and releasing his own material.
Arkateqq has worked with some of music’s biggest names, including Kid Cudi, Chance the Rapper & Kelvyn Colt, and created music for brands such as Nike, Disney and EA Games.
