The story behind the sound
Alfie Godfrey began his career at 14th Street Music in Los Angeles under the mentorship of Lorne Balfe, co-owner of the company alongside Hans Zimmer. He rose through the ranks in various music department roles across dozens of major projects, including Top Gun: Maverick, Ron Howard’s Rebuilding Paradise, the Disney+ hit Dopesick, and Rowan Atkinson’s comedy Man vs Bee, among others. As a score producer, Alfie worked on Horsepower, Matthew Vaughn's Silent Night, and the Netflix nature series Life on Our Planet. Alfie is a frequent collaborator with writer-director Nick Love, contributing to Sky TV’s A Town Called Malice and the Danny Dyer-led rom-com Marching Powder. In 2025, he co-scored Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning with Max Aruj, becoming the youngest composer in the franchise’s history.
Alfie contributed to Top Gun: Maverick and Rebuilding Paradise under Lorne Balfe and Hans Zimmer. Most recently Alfie was the lead composer for Sky TV’s new flagship drama A Town Called Malice.
