The story behind the sound
Alex Cowan is an acclaimed multi-instrumentalist, artist and producer, and an award-winning composer for TV, advertising and film. Renowned for his versatility, as an artist he’s been responsible for an extensive list of projects, operating under the aliases TM Juke, AI Stylus and Mr Kojak, as part of the bands LOYAL and Let The Machines Do The Work, and as a collaborator of highly successful UK soul singer Alice Russell. As a result, Alex’s work has taken him all over the world and won him radio support from tastemakers including Annie Mac, Zane Lowe, Gilles Peterson and Mista Jam. Working as a composer for sync, Alex’s music has been heard on hit shows including Glee, Nashville, House Of Cards and The Walking Dead, while his commercial clients include Playstation, Universal, HBO, BMW and Tom Ford. Alex runs a vintage studio in Brighton with his creative partner Jimmy Day (Payfone).
